1. Transformer tank, radiators, pipes and conservator should be withstand full vacuum (during drying the transformer)
2. Load current wave shape of furnace transformer is heavily distorted, encounters to load unbalance and is subjected to frequent over currents. Therefore the manufacturer should be considered these operational conditions. Additional information will be given by client during design review stage, if necessary.
3. Suitable current transformers required for the operation of the thermal relays or the on load tap changing equipment should be supplied, whereas additional bushing type current transformers is not require for differential and overcurrent protection purposes. All bushing type current transformers shall be removable without removing the transformer cover.
4. The core shall be earthed at one point and the core stack shall be earthed internally through grounding links, routed on top of the core and should be accessible from the manhole on main tank cover or preferably from top of tank to permit testing of insulation resistance between tank and core.
5. Each assembled core and coils shall be fixed in the tank in a proper way to withstand impacts and shakes during transportation. The minimum withstand capability shall be 3g at any direction. Impact recorders for recording shock forces during shipment and transport should be installed by manufacturer and will be returned back by the manufacturer after arrival at site. Impact recorders shall be approved by the buyer.
The impact recorders shall be of the most modern type and record impact in the three directions. One extra digital impact recorder shall be installed on each transformer during transportation.
6. The tank shall be provided with manholes of suitable size to afford easy access to the tap changing mechanisms, lower ends of bushings, current transformers, terminals, and the upper portions of the coils.
7. The cover construction shall include some manholes. Each manhole shall be of sufficient size to permit entry of a 0.5 m diameter sphere. Manholes for giving access to internal bushing connectors shall also be provided. All cover openings shall have an upright edge of not less than 5 Cm , and gaskets which can be used again after opening
