Core Application Scenario: Large-Scale Arc Furnace Steelmaking (Most Mainstream Scenario) An arc furnace corresponding to the 140MVA capacity is a 120-150 ton large-scale arc furnace, which is the core equipment for the "short-process steelmaking" in modern iron and steel enterprises. It is mainly used to melt scrap steel (or mixed raw materials of pig iron and scrap steel) into molten steel. The specific applications include: • Smelting of Carbon Steel/Low-Alloy Steel:It is adapted to the short-process production lines of large iron and steel plants, providing molten steel raw materials for basic steel products such as construction steel (deformed steel bars, wire rods) and mechanical manufacturing steel (plates, sections). Compared with the traditional "blast furnace-converter" long process, short-process steelmaking relies more on arc furnaces. Moreover, the 140MVA-level equipment can achieve high-capacity continuous production (the smelting cycle of a single furnace is about 40-60 minutes, with a daily output of up to 2,000-3,000 tons), making it suitable for iron and steel enterprises in regions rich in scrap steel resources. • Smelting of Special Steel/Alloy Structural Steel:It is used to produce steel grades with higher requirements for composition control, such as bearing steel, gear steel, die steel, and spring steel. The "high-temperature, strong stirring" characteristics of the arc furnace can accurately adjust the composition of molten steel (e.g., controlling the content of C, Si, and Mn, and removing S and P impurities). The large-capacity 140MVA transformer can stably output high power, ensuring a constant temperature during the smelting process and meeting the process requirements for special steel. • Smelting of Stainless Steel/High-Alloy Steel:Some large-scale arc furnaces (equipped with LF ladle refining furnaces and VOD vacuum degassing devices) can be used for the rough smelting of stainless steel (e.g., 304, 316 series) or high-alloy steel (e.g., heat-resistant steel, wear-resistant steel). The high-power reserve of the 140MVA transformer can support "long-term high-temperature smelting", ensuring the full dissolution of alloying elements such as chromium and nickel.
